The Plano Wildcats Muster More Hits But Fall 3-2 to Hebron

The Plano Wildcats lost 3-2 in seven innings at Plano Senior High on Tuesday, despite outhitting Hebron four to three.

Jacob Mattox looked sharp on the rubber. Hebron managed just one hit off of the Plano Wildcats pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work. Zach Deloach recorded the win for Hebron. He allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings. Deloach struck out five, walked one and gave up three hits. Mattox couldn’t get it done on the hill for the Plano Wildcats, taking a loss.

Hebron closer David Rodriguez put away the final five outs to record the save. Hebron stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Michael Neustifter. Hebron added two more runs in the top of the sixth. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Derek Mueller to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Layne Moore’s single, plating Josh Abalos. After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Plano Wildcats faced just a 3-2 deficit. An RBI single by Mitchell Hansen and an RBI single by Quinn Waterbury sparked the Plano Wildcats rally. The Plano Wildcats threat came to an end when Rodriguez finally got Troy Lee to ground out.
