Plano Senior wins fourth straight, halts Plano West’s four-game win streak

The Plano Senior baseball (6-1 in District 10-5A) team scored three runs over the final two innings to pull away for a 5-1 home victory over Plano West (4-3) on Tuesday.
The Wolves scraped out their lone run in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI by senior Kosuke Nishitani for a 2-1 deficit, only to surrender two to the Wildcats. Senior Ryan Robertson (2-of-3, two runs) and sophomore Brett Hudspeth were instrumental in Plano’s return fire, which the Wolves failed to counter in response.
West mustered just three hits, two courtesy of junior Zach Thomas, and was largely muzzled by Plano senior Kenneth Tabor and his defense. Tabor posted the win on the bump, hurling a complete game where he allowed no earned runs and struck out seven.
West’s defense limited Plano to just two hits and two runs through four innings after a couple defensive miscues put the Wolves in a 2-0 hole in the first inning.
The loss snapped West’s four-game winning streak, while also extending the Wildcats’ current run to four consecutive victories.
The two will reconvene at West at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
