Plano Wildcats Win, in Fifth-Inning Rally

The Plano Wildcats beat Lewisville 10-0 in five innings tonight, after a six-run explosion in the fifth inning.

The Wildcats scored in the fifth on a two-run triple by Gustavo Rodriguez, a three-run double by Chris Cloud, and an RBI single by Brett Hudspeth.

Rodriguez reached base three times in the game for Plano. He scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Plano’s winning pitcher, Jacob Mattox had a nice outing from the mound. Lewisville managed only one hit off Mattox, who allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Tyrell Shavers couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Lewisville, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked five, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The lead stayed with Plano after the second, when they scored one run on an RBI single by A.J. Liu. Plano added three more runs in the bottom of the third. Quinn Waterbury flied out to right field and Chris Cloud tagged and scored from third to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up with a steal of home by Jaxsen Davis.
