The Wildcats beat Lewisville on Friday 12-0 in six innings. Plano scored six runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Garrett Maas, a wild pitch, a two-run triple by Gustavo Rodriguez, and a two-run single by A.J. Liu.
A.J. Liu was perfect at the dish, going 4-4.
Wildcat’s pitcher, Zach Holifield kept Lewisville off the scoreboard for all six innings. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up four.
Angelo Gennari was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out eight.
The lead stayed with Plano after the first, when they scored two runs on a two-run single by Quinn Waterbury.
Plano piled on two more runs in the top of the second. Liu’s double got things going, scoring Conner Allen.
Plano got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Plano scored on an RBI single by Brett Hudspeth, bringing home Chris Cloud.
