Plano Wildcats Lose 12-7 To Flower Mound Marcus

Connor Allen did all he could to give the Plano Wildcats a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Flower Mound Marcus, as the Plano Wildcats lost 12-7 in seven innings on Monday.

Allen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Plano Wildcats. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Cushing recorded the win for Flower Mound Marcus. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Flower Mound Marcus’ Easley, Glowenlee and Minor combined for nine hits and seven RBIs.

Michael Cheney was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

In the bottom of the third, the Plano Wildcats grabbed the early lead, 2-1. Troy Lee got things going for the Plano Wildcats with a single. The scoreboard lit up again for the Plano Wildcats when Lee scored on an RBI single by Allen.

The lead stayed with Flower Mound Marcus after the fifth, when it scored six runs on a three-run home run by Glowenlee and a two-run single by Easley.

Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Plano Wildcats close their deficit to 9-4. An RBI single by Mitchell Hansen set off the Plano Wildcats rally. Finally, Dobson got Quinn Waterbury to strike out to end the threat.

Flower Mound Marcus tacked on another three runs in the seventh. Easley doubled, bringing home Minor to start the inning.

Three runs in the bottom of the seventh helped the Plano Wildcats close their deficit to 12-7. An RBI double by Allen, a groundout by Austin Toups, and a groundout by Seth Nielsen gave the Plano Wildcats life. The Plano Wildcats Graham Welch flew out to end the ballgame.
