Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Mitchell Hansen could carry the Plano Wildcats past Lewisville on Thursday as the Plano Wildcats suffered a 2-1 defeat.
Hansen got on base three times in the game for the Wildcats. He singled in the third and fifth innings.
Hansen brought the heat against Lewisville during his outing. Lewisville managed just three hits off of Hansen, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his 4 2/3 innings of work.
Plano Wildcats were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Wildcats were ahead until the fifth inning, but Lewisville would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on an error.
Angelo Gennari got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed one run over seven innings. Gennari struck out eight, walked five and gave up three hits.
Hansen was the game’s losing pitcher.
In the first inning, the Plano Wildcats Varsity pushed across their only run of the day on a wild pitch.
Lewisville never trailed after scoring one run in the fifth on an error.
