Plano Wildcats Defeat Plano East After Late Game Single, 4-3

Plano Wildcats took the last of four lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against Plano East, securing a 4-3 victory on Saturday.

The Wildcats took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. Plano went up for good on a two-run single by Austin Toups off Trent Thomas, bringing home Cody Farhat and Brett Hudspeth.

Jacob Mattox got the win for the Wildcats. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered seven hits.

Thomas was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The bottom of the third saw Plano East take an early lead, 1-0. Brady Howle started the rally for Plano East with a single. A stolen base then moved Brady Howle from first to second. Griffin Araujo singled, bringing home Brady Howle.

Plano East quickly matched Plano’s strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the fourth. Plano East scored on an RBI single by Elijiah Reyes and an RBI double by Brady Howle.
