Plano beat Northwest 8-3 on Thursday. The Wildcats captured the lead in the second inning by scoring one run when Jackson Richardson doubled with one out in the second inning.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Northwest answered with two of their own. Hunter Brill uncorked a wild pitch, scoring two runs for Plano.
Ben Patterson earned the win for Plano. He tossed five and a third innings, giving up three runs, six hits, striking out one, and walking one. Whitelock took the loss for Northwest. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs, four hits, and striking out five.
Plano collected nine hits. Medlock, Richardson and Allen each had two hits to lead the Wildcats. Northwest had seven hits in the game. Jarod Riggio and Tredaway each collected multiple hits for Northwest.
