Plano Loses Lead Early In Defeat by Marcus

Plano watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-3 loss to Marcus on Saturday. Marcus took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Marcus.

Marcus scored three runs in the fifth inning started on a single by Van Gundy, a stolen base by Hall, and a single by Mazzola.

Hayward earned the win for Marcus throwing six innings, allowing two runs, seven hits, striking out three, and walking one. Adair recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Marcus. Braley Hollins took the loss for Plano. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, seven hits, striking out one, and walking none.

Plano had nine hits in the game. Anderson Acinger and Garrett Maas each collected multiple hits for the Wildcats. Garrett Maas and Nathaniel Haynes each drove in one run.
