Plano Grabs Lead In Sixth For Win Over Guyer

Plano defeated Guyer 5-2 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. Plano trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Conner Allen tripled off of Cade Branum, driving in two runs.

Guyer captured the lead in the second inning. Jared Walker hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run. Plano evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning. Nic Melson’s sac fly scored one run for the Wildcats.

Jacob Mattox earned the win for Plano. He threw six innings, surrendering two runs, four hits, and striking out three. Caden Foster recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Plano. Cade Branum took the loss for Guyer. He tossed five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, six hits, and striking out five.

Nic Melson and Conner Allen each drove in two runs to lead Plano.
