Plano Falls To McKinney in Low-Scoring Game

Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday, but McKinney was able to outscore Plano. Jacob Mattox started the game for Plano and recorded 18 outs.

Plano took an early lead in the second inning. Braley Hollins singled on a 2-0 count in the second inning, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the third inning, McKinney tied things up at one. McKinney scored one run on a stolen base in the third inning. McKinney took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Jake Smith homered off of Jacob Mattox, driving in one run.

Pepper Jones earned the win for McKinney. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out five. Cole Valek recorded the last four outs to earn the save for McKinney.

Jacob Mattox took the loss for Plano. He went six innings, surrendering two runs, three hits, and striking out eight.

Garrett Maas, Braley Hollins, and Nic Melson all had one hit to lead Plano. Garrett Maas made the most plays with eight.
