Jackson Richardson collected four hits in five at bats, as Plano defeated Frisco Heritage 15-5 on Thursday. Richardson singled in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings.
Heritage took an early lead in the first inning on an error. Plano scored three runs in the top of the fifth and Heritage answered with three of their own. Plano scored when Alex Johannes induced Caiden Foster to hit into a fielder’s choice allowing one run to score and then Jackson Richardson singled off of Johannes, driving in two runs. Heritage then answered when Norman doubled off of Matt Foster, driving in two runs and another run on an error.
Plano took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Evan Vanek induced Nathaniel Haynes to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored and Vanek induced Braley Hollins to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Plano scored five runs in the fourth inning driven by a single by Richardson, a single by Conner Allen, a double by Haynes, and a single by Kennedy Medlock.
Foster earned the win for Plano. He went five innings, allowing five runs, six hits, striking out five, and walking none. Vanek took the loss for Heritage. He pitched three and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs, eight hits, and striking out one.
Plano had 13 hits in the game. Richardson, Haynes, and Medlock each collected multiple hits for Plano. Richardson and Allen each drove in three runs to lead the Wildcats.
