Plano Claws Back, But Falls Short

Plano’s effort to come back from down six runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 6-5 to McKinney North on Saturday. Plano scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Nathaniel Haynes in the fourth, a single by Nic Melson in the fourth, a single by Jackson Richardson in the fourth, a walk by Conner Allen in the fifth, and a single by Haynes in the fifth.
Plano couldn’t keep up with McKinney North early in the game. McKinney North took the lead on a double in the first inning.

Gatewood earned the win for McKinney North. He tossed four innings, allowing five runs, six hits, and striking out three. Valdiz threw one inning, as two relievers helped McKinney North finish off the victory. Valdiz recorded the last three outs to earn the save for McKinney North. Austin Atkinson took the loss for Plano. He threw three innings, giving up three runs, four hits, and striking out two.
Plano collected seven hits. Haynes and Caiden Foster each collected multiple hits for the Wildcats. Foster and Haynes each collected two hits to lead Plano.
