Plano Can’t Erase 5-Run Deficit. Lose To Rider

Plano fought back after falling down by five runs in the fifth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 8-7 defeat to Rider on Friday. Plano scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Jackson Richardson, a single by Nathaniel Haynes, and a groundout by Braley Hollins.

Plano was in it until Rider walked in the fourth inning and took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. Parker Kelly singled off of Derrick Sievert, driving in one run, Kaden Teafatller singled off of Sievert, driving in another run and Sievert walked Hunter to drive in a run.

Plano scored four runs in the sixth inning. Plano scored on a single by Jackson Richardson, a single by Nathaniel Haynes, and a groundout by Braley Hollins.

Logan Wissinger earned the win for Rider. He pitched five innings, allowing four runs, seven hits, and striking out one. Sievert took the loss for Plano. He tossed three and a third innings, surrendering four runs, and eight hits.

Plano had ten hits in the game whil Richardson, Allen, and Lee each had multiple hits for the Wildcats.
