Early Lead Gives The Plano Wildcats Victory Over The Colony

The Plano Wildcats jumped out to an early lead on The Colony and captured a 15-1 victory on Friday, in non-district play.

With 15 runs in the first three innings, the Plano Wildcats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A hit by pitch, a groundout by Zach Gingrich, a passed ball, a two-run single by Austin Toups, an RBI single by Chris Cloud, and a two-run double by Mitchell Hansen during the first inning and an RBI double by Connor Allen, a two-run triple by Toups, a groundout by Graham Welch, an RBI single by Hansen, an RBI single by Zach Gingrich, and a hit by pitch in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Plano Wildcats. Hansen racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Plano Wildcats Varsity.

The Colony’s lineup had no answer for Reece Allen. Allen held The Colony hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Cole Taylor was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out none. Plano Wildcats closer Hudson Kuykendall put away the final three outs.
